Cards for College

Well it's way into the wee hours of the morning but I finally finished my card to send off to Dallas Baptist University's International Student Services Department. Splitcoast stamper Julie Carlisle works in the department and is recruiting you to donate cards for the students. Jen del Muro has a very generous blog tart to giveaway to a lucky individual for participating in this event. The list of participating companies who have donated items is quite long...Verve Stamps, Stamping Bella, Scor-Pal, Glue-Art and Paper Studio to name a few.

As cards are my passion, making cards to donate to charitable causes is a recurring effort. I still have people giving me cards to send off to the troops in Iraq. Of course, my brother and nephew are home now but my best friend's nephew is still there. I have a young Daisy troop making cards to send their way to let them know they are thought of!

I fell in love with this paper by ATD Momenta after seeing Amy Sheffer from Pickled Paper Designs use it. I hunted for it at Thanksgiving when I went home since there isn't an AC Moore in Michigan and that's where Amy said she found it. I was lucky enough to get four packs of this at 50% off and since I shopped there first thing the day after Thanksgiving I received an additonal 30% off. I was psyched because this paper is very elegant. Amy's designs have inspired this creation...I have changed some of the accessories but the basic design is hers. I love it! Thank you for the wonderful layout.

I have the girls coming over tomorrow to make Valentine's Day cards while the guys take a ride to Detroit to visit a bar named Auggie's. I still have some last minute cutting to do so I'll post the cards we're making tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cath

I hope that the students enjoy the cards.
