Wishes come true...

I'm a little late for my Bellariffic Friday post I know.  Sorry - we've had a ton of rain here and our dang basement flooded...again!  I spent Friday morning trying to get as much off the floor and out of the house as possible.  It sure meant that we got a jump start on clearing out the remaining boxes and I found a few things I had been missing.  The whole task of moving and settling in has taken time...

So let's get on to this week's challenge.  We were given a sketch and I flipped it to fit my image.  I colored Uptown Girl Faith the Fairy.  I chose to color her in soft pinks and found a My Mind's Eye 6x6 pack of design paper that would suit that nicely - it's called In Bloom.  I matched that with Bazzil pink and black cardstock and machine stitched the layers.  The image was hand cut and placed on top for dimension and I also added the Party Banner die cut from Little Miss Muffet Stamps die.

The sentiment comes with the stamp but this is actually only part of it.  I cut it and layered it on scrap paper and then cut using Nestie circle and scalloped dies.  Finishing touches are a metal flower with a clear rhinestone, glitter on Faith's skirt and tiny pink rhinestones on her wand and crown oh and a ton of glitter on the banner.

Next week our theme is Buttons...load 'em on guys and show us your creation.  Send a photo to Emily@stampingbella.com by Thursday night and you'll be included in the Friday blog line up.  There's also bucks up for grabs for one person who leaves a comment so tell us what ya think!

Enjoy your week!  With the Fourth of July holiday I am looking forward to some extra time off.  How about you?

It's Golf Time

Hello folks.  Today I've made a birthday card for a young man in the family.  Last year he received Big Guy Grilling - so this year he gets Big Guy Golfing a Mo Manning image released in rubber through Stamping Bella.  Hey, I'm trying to stick with a theme here.  Hehe.

I actually was inspired by a card I found surfing the net for this.  I love having the image pop out of the image panel and I like the way it makes your mind think of a ball so I thought it would tie neatly with this card.  I stamped the image onto Bella's Bestest paper and colored with copics.  I then added shading for definition and depth using prismacolor pencils blended with gamsol.  I then used my Classic circle Nestie dies to make the image panel.  You simply trim up to the outside an inside edge of the Nestie and pop the image outside the die before you put this through your Cuttlebug or other cutting device.  I then layered Bazzil cardstock with additional Nestie dies.

Design paper is from the Simple Stories Generations 6x6 collection.  No machine stitching if you can believe it.  And finally I topped it with buttons and brown hemp just to fill some space.  All this was then placed on Bella's Bestest Kraft cardstock base and the finished size is 5 inch square.

Thanks for looking.  Hope you have a great week.  And don't forget, this week we have a sketch challenge for Bellariffic Friday.  Oh and It's Emily's birthday tomorrow so she is have a sale - 25% off the entire shop, including sale items through Friday.  If you had a wish list going - now is the time to get it done...it's Em's best sale of the year.  Use coupon code bellabirthday2013.  Don't forget to send her birthday wishes!

See ya Friday,

Sizzlin Summer!

It's Bellariffic Friday at Stamping Bella again folks and this week's challenge is Summer!  Summer to me means lazy nights spent cooling off with some ice cream so I pulled out Mo Manning's image Lacie with Ice Cream for the challenge.  I've made her into a Birthday Card to send summer wishes to a special little girl.

I started by stamping her onto Bella's Bestest paper using Memento tuxedo black ink and colored her with copics.  I added surround shading using prismacolor pencils blended with gamsol.  I then used a Nestie circle die to cut her out and matted her with bazzil cardstock.  Design paper is by My Mind's Eye Kate & Co. Cambridge Court 6x6 pack.  Nestie Pendant dies were used to cut the flags which I then topped off with layered prima flowers topped off with a half crystal.  A gingham ribbon brings it all together.

Next week our challenge is a sketch:

If you can play along with us, don't forget to send a copy of your creation to Emily@stampingbella.com by Thursday to be included in next Friday's lineup and you'll also have a chance to win $20 in Bella Bucks.  No time to play, no worries, stop on by the Blog and leave a comment and you might be the lucky random name chosen to win $10 in Bella Bucks.  It's pretty easy!!!  And with the new release the Bucks might come in handy.

Have a great weekend!

Yours Truly,

Happy Bellariffic Friday Folks.  Hope your weekend is off to a great start - that's how I see Friday's anyway...the start to two days full of running errands, sleeping in and having some fun.  Usually in that order too!  Tehe!  For today's challenge we were given a great sketch.  And you had a choice to do a rectangle or circle.  I almost did a circle since this looked pretty easy but I had a vision and decided to run with it.

I colored up a Diane Duda image released in rubber through Stamping Bella called Yours Truly.  I love these images!  They're so elegant and are so girly.  I colored this one with my copics and I still love the way it looks.  As you may recall the last image of Diane's I colored with Distress Markers on Watercolor paper.  Today I stamped the image onto Bella's Bestest paper colored with copics and added shading with prismacolor pencils blended with gamsol.

Design paper is In Bloom by My Mind's Eye, black cardstock is Bazzil and white is Neenah Classic Crest Solar white.  I flip the sketch and added some vintage crocheted ribbon I found at the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck, NY last weekend.  I had a ton of fun and thought this find was just beautiful.  A double sided satin bow tops it off and some half crystals in the right hand corner finish this off.  Finished card size is 5 x 6 1/2.

For next week's challenge it's Sizzin' Summer.  Just color up your favorite Bella Summer stamp - there are oh so many that can fit this one!  And I'm looking forward to summer if only the dang rain would stop coming down here!  It's been raining for a week now.  I know it means the flowers and veggies are happy but there are pools of water all over my yard!

I'm patiently waiting for my new release stamps to arrive in the mail.  Hope you were able to find something in the latest release that caught your eye.  Or your smile - I love Christine Grove's humor!

Stay dry and have a great weekend!

Be-YOU-tiful

Happy Bellariffic Friday folks!  Today's challenge was sistahs or friendship - so I made a card for a really great friend.  It's actually one of the new Uptown Girls.  This is Polly.  I think she is Be-you-tiful - just like my friend.

I started by stamping the image onto Bella's Bestest paper- white.  I then stamped the chair onto design paper and cut it out.  I added some shading around the edges using prismacolor pencils blended with gamsol.  I then stamped the image again onto Bella's Bestest paper - colored it with copics and cut it out.  I know it takes a little extra work but I love the way it looks.  I love the white space of this card.  It showcases the image perfectly.  I layered this onto pink cardstock and then again onto Bella's Bestest Kraft paper

Now here's a peak at the inside.
I generated the sentiment on my computer and cut it out with Nesties.

Now for next week's challenge we have another sketch.  I hope you can find time to play along with us.  And  you have a choice - make it a square or make it a circle.  Hmmm which one should I do?

Have a great weekend.  We have rain in the forecast but my Mom is in town and plan to head to the Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck, NY.  Can't wait!  We bought the weekend pass.

Keep your eyes posted for Bella news on the release date.  I know I'm excited to get our newest artist, Christine Grove's whimsical farm friends into my hands.

Ciao for now,
Cath

It's Bella Release time folks!

I am so thrilled to be sharing this card with you today.  Stamping Bella is introducing a new designer and I had the pleasure of coloring one of her new images for this release. Meet Hot Chick!  OMG I just love her.

I started with my Bella's Bestest paper and Copics.  I also added shading with Prismacolor pencils blended with gamsol.  I wasn't quite sure how to color this chick so I just did a Google search of Chick images and voila there were lots of little cuties to model for me.  I paired the image with some farm themed paper - the green from Farm House Paper Company Country Kitchen 6x6 pad and the black from the Graphic 45 French Country 8x8 pad.  I layered it with Bella's Kraft and made a little flag with the sentiment.  Finished card is 5 1/2 square

Hope on over to the Bella Blog for all the details of this artist and the new images in the Bella family.  I can't wait to see what Emily has up her sleeve.

Ciao for now,
Cath
